GD7.IDX
THE HP48 GOODIES DISKS INDEX FILE
Disks 1 - 7
by Stephen J Thomas
[disk 7 data added by Joe Horn]
GD7.IDX is an index to all the files included in Joe Horn's HP 48 Goodies
Disks 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7. (Disk 4 is HP's System RPL disk, which is not
included in this index).
[Note: See FETCH on this disk for an easy way to search through this index
file for key words. FETCH easily answers questions like "What file had
that reference to Ulam's Conjecture, and what disk was it on, and what
subdirectory was it in?" Just type 'FETCH Ulam'. Or, "What are all the
goodies from Bill Wickes?" Type 'FETCH Wickes'. This time-saving wonder
was made possible by Steve's index. Thanx from all of us, Steve! -jkh-]
This index is sorted alphabetically by file name. See the explanatory
documentation included with the Goodies Disks regarding the meanings of
file name extensions. Generally, only one listing is included here WITHOUT
file name extensions, since files with the same root name are related.
The disk number is followed, when necessary, by the first two letters of
the file's subdirectory. For example, if a file is identified as "5PR",
that means the file can be found on Goodies Disk #5, in the PROGRAMR
subdirectory.
Disks #1 and #3 only had one subdirectory (HORN1 and HORN3, respectively)
containing all the files on those disks. The Index File therefore makes no
reference to the subdirectories on these disks.
Disk #2 had two subdirectories:
DNICKEL - Derek Nickel's VOYAGER and related files
HORN2 - More random goodies
Therefore the files on Disk 2 are identified with "2DN" or "2HO".
Beginning with Disk #5 (at Sparcom's request), the files have been
organized into subdirectories roughly by subject:
ANIMS - Animated Video Programs (not games)
GAMES - Interactive Video Games
GROBS - HP 48 Graphic Objects
HACKER - Goodies for HP 48 Hackers
MATH - Mathematical Utilities
POSTINGS - Text-Only Articles from HP's BBS
PROGRAMR - Goodies for HP 48 Programmers
UTILS - Heavy Utilities for HP 48 Users
WORK - Real-World, Useful, Non-Silly Stuff
Other than organizing this information as an index (and one or two of the
listed files), the actual work represented herein was done by the various
authors and collected together by Joe Horn -- not by me. The descriptions
and author listing are those Joe provided on the Goodies Disks themselves.
The Goodies Disks are available from various BBSs which support the HP 48
(including the Milwaukee BBS 414-362-2020, evenings and weekends ONLY) and
directly from EduCALC (800-677-7001).
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
+ This index is dedicated to Joseph K Horn for his tireless endeavor to +
+ collect the myriad of HP 48-related information into a form which is +
+ easily accessible to all -- and to all those who have contributed +
+ herein to the exploitation of the HP 48. +
